Dear Valued Host Department Customer,
We hope this message finds you well.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued patronage of Host Department. We are writing to inform you that, as the final part of our transition, we plan to move all domains registered through Host Department to our parent company, InterServer.
Due to changes in domain registry pricing, we are required to increase the domain-related fees by $3.40 per year for each of the domain extensions we offer. This increase will take effect when your domains are renewed if you choose to be with Host Department.
However, as a larger player in the domain industry, our parent company, InterServer, is able to continue providing competitive pricing to its customers. You can view InterServer’s domain pricing here:

Please send an email to [email protected] to confirm that you would like to proceed with the domain transfer. Transfer fees may apply, as indicated on the pricing page above.
Steps for transferring your domain
On the Host Department side
1. Unlock the domain for transfer:
- Go to "Domains".
- Select the domain name.
- Click the wrench icon.
- Select "Registrar Lock" from the left-hand pane.
- Disable the registrar lock.
2. Obtain the authorization code (EPP code):
- Click "Get EPP Code" in the left-hand pane.
- The authorization code will be sent to the email address associated with your domain.
3. If applicable, disable WHOIS privacy:
- Go to "Addons" in the left-hand pane.
- Select "ID Protection".
- Disable the service.
On the InterServer side
1. Create a my.interserver.net account, if you do not already have one.
2. Go to Domains → Order/Deploy.
3. Enter your domain name and click "Search".
4. You should see a message similar to the following:
“Sorry! Your domain, YourDomainName.com, is already taken! You already own it? You can transfer it for $15.00. The renewal cost will be $15.00.”
5. Click the "Transfer" button.
6. You may optionally select the "WHOIS Privacy" add-on for $5 per year. This service masks your contact information from public WHOIS records.
7. Enter your email address and the domain’s contact information.
8. Make sure to enter the complete phone number, including the international dialing code. For example: "+1.2016051440"
9. Enter the EPP code obtained from Host Department. This step is required. Then click "Continue".
10. On the next page, accept the website’s terms and conditions, then click "Place Order".
11. To pay the transfer fee, go to "my.interserver.net → Billing → Cart" and complete the payment process.
12. Once the order has been processed, you should see the domain status listed as "Pending Registry Approval" under "my.interserver.net → Domains → YourDomain.com".
13. You will receive an email requesting approval of the domain transfer. Open the link in that email and approve the transfer. This will help speed up the process.
14. If you do not approve the transfer by email, it may take 3–7 business days to complete.
If you would like assistance with the domain transfer instead, please follow the below steps:
1. You can unlock the domain in Host Department webstore and disable ID protect for the domain (if applicable)
2. Please respond back to the domain transfer ticket with the EPP authorization code which is sent to the customer's registered email address.
3. We will create a transfer order for you for the domain transfer along with the EPP code.
4. We will update the ticket to complete the payment which can be done via my.interserver.net → Billing → Cart
5. After the domain transfer is initiated, you will receive a domain transfer approval email from Enom. If the transfer is approved, the transfer process will complete shortly thereafter.
6. If you do not approve the transfer, the process will still complete, but will take about 3-7 business days on its own.
